Laughter keeps you young

The Fährhaus is a theatre located directly by the Alster river with one main job: making its patrons laugh. The Schmidts also appreciate the fact that it fulfils this role with a high level of public satisfaction. Helmut enjoys going here for entertainment with his wife Loki, or alone with his bodyguards. He is impressed by the theatre’s commercial efforts, as it manages well without state subsidies. The facilities are also suitable for events: the Schmidts celebrate their golden wedding anniversary here at the end of June 1992, with nearly 300 guests. The Schmidts also bring in the New Year here – naturally smoking, despite the smoking ban.
